The Loons Theatre, Lyttelton

Top Dog Theatre is presenting WAC, a hilarious new comedy, written by UK born Derek Doddington. The word wac is an Old English word for odd or eccentric, and an apt title for this fast-paced romp set in England in the 1980s, when squatting was all the rage.

To teach their indolent Landlord a lesson, Miles Biggins and his university chums decide to stop paying their rent, and invite a horde of unruly students to stay in their dilapidated flat. However, matters take an unexpected turn when the Landlord takes the law into his own hands by squatting in the home of Miles’ parents.

Bertie Biggins is an up-and-coming Conservative candidate who wants to avoid any publicity before the forthcoming elections, whilst his glamorous yet bored wife, Annabel, gets far more excitement than she ever bargained for when the Landlord introduces his co-squatter George.

As history is dug up and secrets are exposed the parties attempt to arrive at an “amicable arrangement”, all in the name of WAC!
